CHARLIE Farrer is targeting two British Talent Cup podiums this weekend as the championship heads to Donington Park for round two.
After scoring a fourth and a sixth at the opening round at Silverstone in April, the 17-year-old from Easington, County Durham, arrives at the famous circuit sitting third in the points table.
With leaders Scott Ogden and Cameron Horsman tied at the top of the standings, Farrer is keen to build on his first round success and tie-up two podiums to bag as many points as he can to continue his championship chase.
“I’m excited about Donington Park, the last round seems such a long time ago and I’m keen to get back out and back up to the front again,” he said. “I led both races at round one and so I know we can challenge for wins. That’s exactly what I’m looking for this weekend.”
Since the first round, Farrer has made his HEL Performance British Motostar Championship debut and took two third places in the Standard class to also sit third in that series.
Now he hopes to continue his strong run. “Doing British Motostar this year is giving me the chance to get so much more track time and after such a great weekend there I feel confident I can keep the momentum going into Donington.
“Even though I missed out on podiums last time I was happy with how far we’d progressed but this time I really want to be on the box in both races. We ran up front a lot in the first round so this time I’m aiming to get right back up there.”
Farrer’s weekend begins with free practice at 9am on Friday May 24 with qualifying and race one on Saturday and race two on Sunday.
